The Art of Friendship: A Conversation with Hayley & Delie About Her Wedding Bouquet Painting

The Art of Friendship: A Conversation with Hayley & Delie About Her Wedding Bouquet Painting

Some friendships are built on shared experiences, creativity, and a little bit of serendipity.  Our friendship (Hayley, the owner of The Scouted Studio, and artist Delie Putnam) began professionally and has continued to grow into a true friendship.

From working together to traveling with the Founders Society, and now preparing to meet again at Hayley’s art business retreat in Portugal, we’ve created countless memories.

Recently, I had the honor of painting her wedding bouquet—something really fun and meaningful. Today, Hayley and I are sitting down for a fun Q&A about art, business, and friendship!

Head to Hayley's blog to read her questions to me and my answers.  It's linked at the bottom.

Delie: Let’s start with your wedding bouquet! What was your first reaction when you saw the completed painting?

Hayley: I was absolutely blown away! II knew you would create something beautiful, but seeing my bouquet transformed into a painting made it even more special.  It's not just floral art - it's a memory of a beautiful day captured as art, and I'll treasure it forever.

Delie: I loved painting it for you! Since we’re both in the art world, did you have any expectations about how I’d interpret it?

Hayley: Honestly, I trusted you completely. Your style has such a unique way of blending movement and emotion, and I knew you’d bring that to the piece. I didn’t have a specific vision in mind—I just wanted your take on it, and you didn’t disappoint!

Delie: That means so much! We’ve worked together for years through The Scouted Studio. How do you think our relationship has evolved?

Hayley: It started out as business—I represented your work in the gallery—but over time, we connected on a deeper level. From bouncing ideas off each other to traveling together, it’s been amazing to become friends while also supporting each other’s careers.

Delie: Speaking of travel, we’ve had some great trips with the Founders Society! Any favorite memories from our Rosemary Beach or Charleston getaways?

Hayley: Oh, so many! Charleston was such a fun mix of art, enjoying the city and amazing food. But Rosemary Beach might be my favorite because we got to slow down, soak in the gorgeous scenery, and have those deep creative conversations.

Delie: And next up—Portugal! What are you most excited about for the retreat?

Hayley: Everything! Exploring a new place, meeting other artists, and sharing ideas about growing our creative businesses. I think it’s going to be such an inspiring experience for everyone.   Plus, it's Portugal! A bucket list trip for many people including myself.

Painting Hayley’s wedding bouquet was more than just a creative project—it was a way to celebrate our friendship and the journey we’ve been on together. I can’t wait for our next adventure in Portugal and to see what the future holds for both of us in art and life! xo Delie
