A $5 roll of blue painters tape may help you find the answer to your question.
When collectors are unsure about the size of art they need for their home, I recommend the blue tape method.
It’s easy:
-
Get a roll of blue painters tape. You can get blue painters tape at Lowe’s or Amazon. (Make sure it won’t damage your walls or wallpaper - Eeek!)
-
Tape off the area on your wall that you feel looks about right.
-
Live with it. Walk by it. Stand back from it. Feel the size of the blue rectangle in your space.
Fortunately, I can have just about any size canvas (& frame, if desired) custom built. But, here are some standard, large sizes that you can use to try in your space. Use these as a starting point. You could also use two of these sizes as a pair.
